The Secret to Running Super Long Distances

Here it is. It’s a hidden secret that few people put into practice. It’s the trick to going long in any sport…but works super well for running. I’ll give you this priceless secret for free. To run long distances, all you have to do is:

  1. Get off your couch.
  2. Put on your shoes (unless you enjoy barefoot running!)
  3. Put one foot in front of the other.
  4. Continue step #3 for a few minutes, hours (or days if you like!).
  5. Walk when you need to. Stop when you must.
  6. Eat when hungry. Drink when thirsty. Sleep when tired.

That’s it! No potions, lotions, technical gear or support crews required. Just get out and start moving. Happy running my friends.

  1. You inspire me to stay at it. When I started reading your blog I was walking two miles on the treadmill. Three times a week. Now I run one mile with each workout. I’ve also started cycling. Thanks for the push. The nutrition info is great. Would like to know more about the yoga you do. My preference is Kundalini. It’s like running 26 miles without ever lifting your feet off the ground.

    1. Hey Ronel – congrats on your progress- keep it up! Just build a little at a time and you’ll be amazed at how much you’ll improve over the course of a few months. I practice and teach Power Vinyasa Yoga (Baron Baptiste is my teacher). I’ll write a post about it going into more detail sometime soon.
